Finn Olafsson: Alhambra Guitars 2

Spanish guitar company Alhambra Guitars has made a production agreement with Danish luthier Ole Kehlet
that gives Alhambra Guitars the right to produce two Kehlet steel string models, the Kehlet Folk and the Kehlet Great 6,
at Alhambra's factory in Muro de Alcoy in SE Spain.
The Kehlet line at Alhambra is supervised in every detail by Ole Kehlet.

In late March, Ole Kehlet and Finn Olafsson visited the Alhambra factory in order to test the proto types of the two models.

Explains Finn, "I must say that we were very satisfied with the result.
The Kehlet Guitars by Alhambra will be sold throughout the world at a very affordable prize making it possible for many more guitar players to achieve to play a Kehlet Guitar."

The two proto types will be shown during this week at Frankfurt Musik Messe at the booth of Alhambra in Hall 3.1 - booth C 81.

Ole Kehlet, Emil Meinild of Kehlet Guitars and Finn Olafsson will be attending the booth on
Thursday April 4 and Friday April 5, 2019.

Danish prog rock band ACHE's hit
"Shadow of a Gipsy"
to be heard in the movie
"The Day Will Come" ("Der kommer en dag")

The movie "Der kommer en dag" - starring internationally famed Sofie Gråbøl and Lars Mikkelsen a.o. - was officially premiered in all of Denmark on Thursday April 21, 2016.

Already by the end of the following weekend more than 48.000 cinema guests had seen it, in sincere sympathy.
In the movie, ACHE's "Shadow of a Gipsy" is performed in a new arrangement by the movie's composer, Sune Martin.
The song fits very well in the movie's time frame, and not least Torsten Olafsson's lyrics relate to the film plot in the best possible manner.

This 26 minutes interview portrait was made in late 2014 in the extension of Finn Olafsson's "Video of the Month 2014" project: 12 live-in-the-studio acoustic guitar videos.

Finn Olafsson tells about composing music, his inspiration, his life with music, the guitars he plays, how he kept spirits up after the death of his daughter Maria in August 2013 - and much more - mixed with clips of his music from the videos.

Subtitles in English.

Koncerten fandt sted den 29. september 2013.

Musikken stammer hovedsageligt fra Finn Olafssons seneste CD-album ’Music From North Sealand’, som er skrevet under inspiration af Nordsjælland. Ved koncerten fortæller guitaristen om baggrunden for de enkelte musikstykker.

Akustik Gitarre 5-2014

German acoustic guitar magazine "Akustik Gitarre" (5-2014) carries a guest-workshop of "Dark Patterns" - the guitar tune that Finn Olafsson plays in January's "Video of the Month 2014". The workshop is an introduction to how to play the guitar tune yourself - as well as an introduction to one of Finn Olafsson's favorite guitar tunings: EADF#BE - the Renaissance tuning.

The workshop is written by Finn Olafsson and was translated into German by editor Andreas Schulz. In the magazine you will find the sheet music and the tabs for the intro and A-part. They correspond to the recording on the "Begleit-CD", which, as well as the magazine, can be ordered from the magazine's website. Both also correspond to the video on YouTube.

PRESS RELEASE
On September 24, 2012, UK based record company Esoteric Recordings reissued the Danish progressive rock band ACHE’s two first albums ”De Homine Urbano” from 1970 and ”Green Man” from 1971.
”Green Man” includes the single hit ”Shadow of a Gipsy” which was released in 1970 as a forerunner for the album.

ACHE was formed in 1968 by Finn Olafsson (guitars, vocals), Peter Mellin, (Hammond organ, piano, vocals), Torsten Olafsson (bass, vocals), and Glenn Fischer (drums, percussion).

This is the 6th rerelease of those two legendary ACHE albums for Philips hailed by Julian Cope in his on-line Danskrocksampler page and now considered Psych / Prog classics par excellence.
The Esoteric Recordings reissues have been newly remastered and feature booklets that fully restore all original album artwork with a new essay and an interview with Finn Olafsson and Torsten Olafsson authored by Record Collector magazine journalist Marco Rossi.

The two CDs have been remastered by Ben Wiseman, The Audio Archiving Company, London.

Ambassador of Tourism

At an event held by the tourist organization VisitNordsjaelland on Feb. 21, 2012, composer and guitarist Finn Olafsson had the honour of being appointed Goodwill Ambassador to Monarchic North Sealand in Denmark.

The appointment states that "The title as Goodwill Ambassador is a mark of honour which is awarded persons who have got unique qualifications and who are motivated to make a difference for Monarchic North Sealand - the Danish and foreign visitors' preferred haven of life quality and joy of living."

Finn Olafsson's music is inspired by the nature, culture, and history of North Sealand and his latest album "Music From North Sealand" reflects the inspiration that comes from living in this area.

On October 28, 2010, Olafssongs Music Publishers, Denmark, released a new CD featuring a carefully selected collection of unique Danish songs composed by Tony Vejslev to lyrics written by the composer's close friend, the renowned Danish poet/writer Frank Jæger.

CD title in English:
"Tribute to Tony Vejslev & Frank Jæger".

The CD's 13 songs are interpreted by Danish Music Awards 2008 prize nominee and singer/songwriter/guitarist Tom Frederiksen, accompanied by Finn Olafsson on 6- & 12-string acoustic guitars & vocals and Torsten Olafsson on acoustic bass guitar & vocals.

Finn Olafsson has composed additional instrumental music for five of the songs and all tracks have been arranged by Tom Frederiksen, Finn Olafsson & Torsten Olafsson.

The CD has been recorded and produced by Finn Olafsson in Olafssongs' new analogue recording studie in Græsted, north of Copenhagen, Denmark.

In the March-April issue of the German guitar music magazine AKUSTIK GITARRE, published by ACOUSTIC MUSIC, Finn Olafsson is prominently featured with a comprehensive 3-page illustrated interview by Stefan Woldach about his music and the Kehlet Guitars as well as a fingerpicking guitar method workshop focusing on his solo guitar composition "Our House" (Part 1).

"Our House" was re-recorded by Finn Olafsson - arranged into two separate parts for this special AKUSTIK GITARRE workshop - on his amazing Kehlet Grand Folk "Finn Olafsson Signature" guitar, tuned to CGCGBD.

It is a pleasure to announce that Danish guitar duo Anders Roland & Finn Olafsson have been nominated for Danish Music Awards - Folk 2007 - in the category "Danish Composer of the Year" - for their most recent album "BLUES".

The nomination represents a natural acknowledgement of that wide range of superb CD reviews in which Danish music journalists are describing "BLUES" using superlatives such as:
